NOT CHOSEN

Okay, so this morning I dragged myself out of bed at 5:45 (am) and went downtown to the courthouse to do my civic duty. After 2 hours of sitting on probably the hardest wooden chair ever made, we were given a 10 minute break. Of course with all the women there, and with all of us having the same thing in mind, we all made a mad dash to the ladies room. The line was around the corner and down the hall. Imagine this, no line for the men's room!!! What are they thinking at least 100 women and you give us a 10 minute break to potty, I don't think so. I made a suggestion that for every 1 men's restroom there should be 2 women's. After getting back late from our 10 minute potty break, I joined the others for another 30 minute wait. All these names started being called out to report to court rooms and I was thinking, please call my name, so I can get off of this hard chair. I was trying to enjoy my new book that my friend gave me to read, but the two ladies beside me were talking so loud about their recent surgeries, that I couldn't concentrate. Finally, they called my name, I was so excited and nearly ran upstairs to the court room only to find another hard wooden chair, this time in the juror's box. The judge went through all the preliminary questions, your name, husband's name, nature of your business, how many kids do you have, do you like criminals and have you ever been a criminal. I tried to answer all of them to my ability and must have failed somewhere, because they didn't pick me :(
As sad as I was that I would not be coming back tomorrow to sit on the wooden chair that I had grown use to, I was glad to be going home with the knowing ,that I had tried to fulfill my civic duty.

Morning girl...wow that sounds like a rough day...I doubt if I would ever get picked for jury duty...I would be crying during the whole thing! I can't even watch the news of horrible crimes without it affecting me especially these insane people that call themselves humans that torture and abuse children! Thanks for coming by friend...we had a great day..I always do when I am with Bill...even after all these years we talk & laugh all the time like a coupple of kids & then we even went to spend some time with my parents and man...that was double talk & laughter there!!! lol lol Hope you have a great week!

I have jury duty in a couple weeks. I've never done it before but I'm a bit nervous as I'm suppose to be going out of town. Question if they turn you down are you off the hook for the rest of the two weeks or you get booted to another case?
